The Denver Nuggets will host the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game One of a best -of-seven series in Round One of the NBA Playoffs. Tipoff at Ball Arena in Denver, CO, is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. EST, with coverage provided by Prime Video.
Minnesota ended the regular season winning three of its last four games. As the No. 6 seed to the No. 3 seed, Denver, they should be the underdog in the series and the game. But the spread could turn from a modest 6.5 points easily into double digits, depending on one thing—the status of Anthony Edwards.
Edwards is listed as questionable for the game with “right knee; injury maintenance.” Surely, they can worry about “maintenance” another day, right? Heck, they just had a week off while the play-in tournament played out. However, while he should be rested, it is worth pointing out that he missed 11 of Minnesota’s last 15 games. So, maybe there is more to it than just “routine maintenance.”
We probably won't know until closer to game time. If the Timberwolves are going to have a shot at recording an upset, they’ll need Edwards on the court and playing as well or better than his season averages (28.8 points,5.0 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game).
