Fresh off a 7-2 win in Game 1, the Milwaukee Brewers will enter Saturday’s Game 2 with the Toronto Blue Jays as sturdy road underdogs (+123) at Rogers Centre.

The Brewers solidified their hold on the No.1 spot in the NL Central following another decisive win over Toronto. The 84-52 Milwaukee leads the 77-58 Chicago Cubs by 6.5 games with barely a month left in the regular season. The Brewers average 6.0 runs per game while sporting a 4.80 ERA over their last five games. Quinn Priester (5-0, 4.05 ERA) will be making his second career start against the Blue Jays. Priester surrendered four earned runs over 4.1 innings in a 4-5 loss to the Blue Jays last, when he was still a member of the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Blue Jays still own the best record in the AL East at 78-57 despite going 2-3 in their last five games. Offensively, Toronto is still in terrific shape. They average 6.1 runs per contest on a .272 batting average in the last five games. As for their pitching, the Blue Jays have surrendered a 5.93 ERA in the stretch, which is significantly higher than their 4.25 ERA this season. If they want to go deeper in this year’s MLB playoffs, they will have to start pitching a sub-3.00 ERA for a better chance at topping elite teams late September and October. Kevin Gausmann, Toronto’s projected starter on Saturday, is 1-4 with a 4.06 ERA in his last five starts.
