St. Louis Cardinals (48-43) and Milwaukee Brewers (58-34) will conclude their five-game series tonight at Busch Stadium. The Cardinals have been poor so far in this series, although they managed to stop the slide on Wednesday evening with a 5-1 victory. Michael McGreevy was outstanding after making six strikeouts to improve his record to 4-7 this year. This result now leaves them 9.5 games behind the Brewers in the NL Central.

The Brewers, on the other side of the grass, will be keen to return to winning ways and improve their 7-3 record in the last 10 games. Before the Wednesday night defeat, the Brewers had won four consecutive games, meaning this series is already safely in the bag. However, they didn’t show enough offensive sharpness against McGreevy last night, scoring their lone run after his exit. Still, oddsmakers are backing them to bounce back as the -140 betting favorites.
