Game 1 of the heated series between the Brewers and Mets in Queens couldn't be played due to bad weather, so a Wednesday doubleheader was rescheduled, but Game 2 of this series, scheduled for a New York night, will remain at its original time.

The Mets and Brewers haven't met since the epic 2024 postseason series, which the Mets won against the oddsmakers in Milwaukee. Both teams are approaching the All-Star Game in very similar positions in 2025. Both are close to second in their respective divisions: the Mets with a 48-37 record but a poor finish to June, and the Brewers with a 47-37 record but having won eight of their last 10 games. The Brewers are in the midst of an unstoppable upward trend and haven't lost a series since June 6-8 against the Padres.

Meanwhile, the Mets, like the Phillies earlier, were unable to beat the Pirates in their weekend series at PNC Park. They lost games not only strangely as betting favorites but also by a landslide. The Pirates won the games 9-1, 9-2, and 12-1.
