In MLB's rivalry weekend in Minneapolis, the Brewers are playing the Twins, and the first game of the series ended 3-2 in favor of the Brewers. Milwaukee trailed 2-1 entering the eighth inning, but Bauers' bat was clutch, hitting a double that drove in William Contreras and Brice Turang, who scored on an obstruction call.
On Friday, the Twins played without Byron Buxton, the team's home run leader. Manager Derek Shelton said the player, with 15 home runs, is feeling better and his return could be near. The same is true for Yelich on the Brewers, whom manager Murphy said is pushing to return.
For Saturday's game, Connor Prielipp will take the mound for the Twins. He has a 1-1 record in 19 innings pitched. He pitched five innings, allowing four runs, but only one earned run in his last start against the Guardians. Because of his injury history, the Twins manager is giving him an extra day or two off for his recovery, not bare since May 8.
