The Brewers had the best record in MLB and the longest winning streak in franchise history in the regular season, but none of that has helped them compete against the Dodgers in the ALCS. The reigning champions won the first three games of the ALCS, and the betting odds suggest the Dodgers will sweep the Brewers, as Los Angeles is a -200 favorite to seal their spot in the World Series that same Friday.

It's obvious that Dave Roberts' vast experience in playoff games has paid off; since the 2024 playoffs, which continued in the 2025 playoffs, all his bets, pitching moves, and lineup additions have paid off. Roberts excelled by giving the closer job to young Roki Sasaki, who recorded the final three outs of Game 3, struck out one, and earned his third save of the playoffs.

Ohtani has had a postseason to forget from the batting perspective; it's Roberts' only concern currently, as the rest of the roster responded. The Japanese strikeout was twice the same number as Betts, Smith, Edman, and Teoscar in a game in which the Dodgers struck out 15 times but Dodgers still won thanks to an RBI double by Betts, an RBI single by Edman, and Freeman scoring on an error. Three runs were enough; the Brewers only allowed four hits.
