The Milwaukee Brewers will head down to Texas for an interleague battle with the Houston Astros to begin their weekend series. Friday night could be the date for Houston’s 6th straight win, a remarkable achievement considering their poor start to 2024. Meanwhile, Milwaukee sits atop the National League Central division and appears poised to make a run in the postseason once October comes around. They will also enjoy a day off on Thursday after winning their series at home against the Pittsburgh Pirates, including a 10-2 win to cap it off. Former coach and now manager Pat Murphy has Milwaukee right back where they were last year. The appointment comes following Craig Counsell’s departure to the Chicago Cubs, with a record-breaking contract possibly the reason he was lured away. It was a bit of a controversial move as well, with Counsell hailing from the Milwaukee area and deciding to leave for arguably the Brewers’ biggest rival.
