It is a 4-game series between the Reds and the Brewers. Cincinnati lost 10-8 on Monday but took game 2 by the score of 9-5. It is currently 5-0 Milwaukee in the 3rd game of the series but we are focused on Thursday’s final game of the series. Freddy Peralta is slated to hurl for the Brewers in this one. Peralta is 1-0 with a 3.09ERA and has 15 strikeouts compared to just 2 walks. He struggled a bit last year and has continually dealt with injuries but he is off to a nice start in 2024. The offense has been humming as they rank 4th in the league in slugging with .437 as a team and are led by Bruce Turang. His 5 extra base hits lead the team and his .353 batting average has been a blessing. For the Reds, they will look to Nick Martinez who has really struggled out of the gate. He has yet to surpass the 5-inning mark and is carrying a 7.20 ERA. The 6-5 Reds have benefited from some solid hitting early on as they are 2nd in baseball with a combined .280 batting average. And they have taken advantage of the long-ball with 14 home runs. Spencer Steer has been stellar with a .400 average to go with his 3 home runs and 15 RBIs.

The Brewers bats have been extremely hot lately and Peralta seems to be in an early groove. He could easily go down with an injury within a couple weeks as that has been his MO but we only need a good 6-7 innings from him here. The fact that he has kept runners off the base path will be beneficial here as well considering the Reds are heavily reliant on the long-ball. The Brewers take this final game of the series.
