Game 3 of the 3-game series between the Cubs and Brewers will decide who wins the series as both teams took a victory to this point. The Brewers won game 1 on the back of Joe Ross, who allowed just 1 run on 6 innings of work. He kept the Brewers in the game but exited with them down 1-0. The 8th inning ultimately told the story of the game as the Brewers scored 3 on a trio of singles by Contreras, Adames, and Bauers. Hey were able to get to the Cubs bullpen and spoil a great outing by Hayden Wesneski who struck out 8 in his 6.1 innings. In game 2, both offenses got going a bit and the Cubs benefited by winning 6-5. After building a 5-0 lead, they staved off a late Brewer comeback attempt to hold on to the win. Jameson Taillon picked up he win after going 6 innings and striking out 7. Nico Hoerner and Patrick Wisdom each hit solo homers in the win for the Cubs. Here in game 3, Freddy Peralta (3-0, 3.21) will face Javier Assad (2-0, 1.97) in a battle of undefeated pitchers. The Brewers find themselves as the slight favorites in this rubber match.
