The Milwaukee Brewers (62-49) are looking to avoid a 3-game losing streak after dropping 2 of their last 3 games to the Washington Nationals. They face a well-known foe in the Atlanta Braves (60-51) tonight in Atlanta. The Braves, who have been hampered by the injury bug, saw yet another important piece of their team head to the IL. Reynaldo Lopez, the 2024 All-Star, injured his forearm and joins a plethora of other Braves on the injured list. Like the Brewers, the Braves are trying to avoid a 3-game losing streak of their own after losing back-to-back games against the Miami Marlins who they split their 4-game series with. These two teams met as recently as the 31st of July. The Braves took 2 out of 3 in the series. After losing 8-3, the defeated the Brewers 5-1 and 6-1. Bryce Elder and Chris Sale combined for 11.2 innings and allowed just 3 runs while striking out 13 in those 2 wins. Tonight, Bryce Elder (2-4, 5.67) will get a chance to pick up his 3rd win of the season and his 2nd against the Brewers.
