The Nationals have already lost the series after giving up their first two assignments. They’ve been uninspiring so far, losing 7-3 on both occasions, including the Tuesday night defeat, where they remained hitless until the sixth inning. The hosts will be keen to tighten up defensively today and improve their 31-31 record.
Miami Marlins, meanwhile, have been surprisingly good in this series, considering they’re coming off a 3-0 series drubbing against the Mets. The Marlins have punished the Nationals for their mistakes with some powerful offensive and defensive displays. They hit three straight homers on Tuesday night to stun the Nats and go 5-5 in their last 10 games. This was the first time the Marlins had hit back-to-back homers since August 2023.
