The Philadelphia Phillies have been one of the hottest teams in baseball over the last 2 weeks. It seems like that trip to Iowa was truly a magical one. They look to complete the sweep of the Miami Marlins tonight.

Cristopher Sanchez started game one of the series and got the Phillies off on the right foot. He allowed just 1 run on 8 scattered hits in 6 innings to pick up his league-leading 16th win of the season. Despite the bullpen getting roughed up for 4 runs in the final 5 frames, the Phillies held on to the 6-5 win. Bryce Harper led the offense by going 3-4 and adding a walk.

In game two, veteran Zach Wheeler did not have his best stuff. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits and did not factor into the decision. Down 3-1 in the 6th inning, the Phillies offense came alive. Alec Bohm doubled in a run and was followed by Bryson Stott knocking in two on a single. Justin Crawford followed those up with an RBI single of his own and gave the Phillies a 5-3 lead that they would never relinquish. Brooks Raley came into the game in the 9th to close out his 1st save of the season.

Tonight, Aaron Nola will be tasked with trying to close out the sweep. He will be countered by Sandy Alcantara, who has been solid this season with a 13-7 record and 3.42 ERA.
