These Marlins have been enjoying their recent series against their divisional rivals, the Mets. As July winds down and August begins, they're leading two of the four-game series, with the final game scheduled for this afternoon in Queens.
5-2: The Marlins took Game 2 of this series with Jakob Marsee hitting an RBI double and Stowers adding the insurance run with his 16th home run of the year. The "Fighting Fish" also won by a nearly identical score of 6-2 on Saturday, thanks to a two-homer game by Sanoja and Connie.
The Marlins are definitely a streaky team; they had a June and early July where they were the best team in MLB during that stretch, just before falling into one of the worst losing streaks in franchise history, losing 12 straight games. They're back on the winning track, taking 5 of their last 6 games against their divisional rivals, the Phillies and Mets.
