Nolan McLean kept the Mets in game one. He held the Marlins to 2 runs on 6 hits through 6 innings. Eury Perez did the same for the Marlins and exited with the game tied at 2-2. In the 8th, Luis Robert Jr. hit a 2-RBI single that broke the tie and gave the Mets a 4-2 advantage. That lead was held by Devin Williams of the Mets, who came in and closed things out for his 16th save of the season.
Janson Junk of the Marlins was strong on the mound in game two. He allowed just 1 unearned run on 3 hits over 5 innings and picked up the win. His Marlins built up a 4-o lead in the 5th inning and never looked back. The Mets were able to muster just 2 runs in their comeback bid before Pete Fairbanks shut the door in the 9th for his 16th save.
