The Marlins continued their red-hot streak. Starting on June 20, they won a series against the Braves, then swept the Giants in San Francisco, swept the D-Backs in the desert, and won another series at the Twins before the Brewers were able to narrowly stop the Marlins. However, Miami picked things up where they left off and quickly opened Games 1 and 2 of their series against the Reds.

The first pitcher in the Reds-Marlins series in Cincinnati was catcher Agustín Ramírez, who went 2-for-4 with a home run that day, and Junk was particularly dominant on the mound, pitching six scoreless innings. Game 2 was more of the same, with Ramírez hitting an RBI double, and Marlins fans have reason to be excited about pitcher Eur Perez, who struck out eight in less than six innings on Tuesday.

That's why Sandy Alcantara, poised to be the team's star, must feel responsible for maintaining his team's hot streak. Alcantara has a high ERA of 7.01 this season.
