The Brewers were barely able to put an end to the Marlins' excellent and unexpectedly strong run. With a sweep of the D-backs in the desert, which followed another series win against the Twins, they reached their 40th win sooner than their 50th loss of the season. Now, the Marlins will put a poor-hitting Sunday, dominated by Woodruff, behind them to focus on their next series against the Reds.

The Marlins and Reds already faced each other in 2025, in Miami earlier this season, in a series that the Marlins won but the Reds salvaged in the final game. Singer pitched six innings in that 5-2 Cincinnati victory and will have another opportunity against the Marlins, this time at Great American Ball Park.
