The Friday NBA schedule tips off with an Eastern Conference matchup as the Miami Heat visit the Boston Celtics at TD Garden. Both teams are clustered tightly in the middle of the conference standings, but they arrive at this game in very different spots in terms of form, rest, and overall trajectory.
Miami comes into this contest tied with Philadelphia for sixth place in the Eastern Conference, though their road results have been a concern. The Heat are currently three games below .500 away from home, and they've dropped six of their last eight games overall, a stretch that exposed ongoing offensive inconsistency and limited depth.
That said, Miami did manage to stop the bleeding on Thursday night with a 106-95 road win over the Nets. That victory snapped a five-game losing streak and gave the Heat a badly needed confidence boost.
Boston sits tied with Orlando for fourth place in the Eastern Conference and has been solid, if not dominant, at home. The Celtics have won eight of their first 13 games at TD Garden, and their offensive profile remains one of the strongest in the league.
However, the Celtics are also looking to respond after a pair of disappointing losses. They recently fell to both the Bucks and the Pistons, games that highlighted occasional lapses in focus and defensive execution.

Our Boston Celtics vs Miami Heat Prediction
Miami continues to operate without several key contributors. Tyler Herro remains sidelined, which limits the Heat's shot creation and spacing. Pelle Larsson and Nikola Jovic are also unavailable, further thinning an already short rotation. These absences place added pressure on Miami's remaining scorers and make it more difficult to maintain offensive rhythm, particularly late in games.
Fatigue is another major concern for the Heat. Coming off a road win last night, Miami now faces a rested Boston team in one of the league's toughest venues. Playing back-to-back games is challenging under any circumstances, but doing so while undermanned significantly raises the degree of difficulty.
Boston's injury report is far cleaner, though the absence of Jayson Tatum is notable. Tatum has been ruled out once again, removing the team's primary scorer and most reliable late-game option. Even so, the Celtics remain in relatively strong shape overall, with the rest of the core available and capable of absorbing the scoring load collectively.
Given Miami's injury issues, back-to-back scheduling spot, and recent struggles, this sets up as a favorable situation for the Celtics. Playing at home with rest and a strong track record against the Heat, Boston has a clear path to securing a win and covering a modest home line. Our prediction for Boston Celtics vs. Miami Heat: Over 233.5 points.
