Mexico and Portugal meet at Estadio Azteca on Saturday evening in preparation for the World Cup. Ahead of this intriguing game, upcoming Mexican talent Armando González is worth betting on to score.
Being one of three hosts of the major event, Mexico hasn't had to endure any World Cup qualification games. Instead, they’re already well-settled in the international friendlies, storming through 4-0 on home soil last time out.
Facing a couple of upsets, you could say Portugal had a fairly lucky escape in the WC qualification stage, topping the group with a comparatively low points tally of 13. They conceded goals in four out of their last six, multiple goals in three, especially, shipping multiple goals in their last two away games.
And, honestly, Mexico should be more of an offensive threat than both of their last two oppositions on the road. With this in mind, someone like González who’s in flying form and wanting to continue to impress, will be eager to get his hands on a goal against big-dogs Portugal.

Our Mexico vs Portugal Prediction
It doesn’t come as a surprise to see that the young Mexican has been enlisted by his nation given the red-hot season he’s having for his club, where he’s netted a staggering 22 goals in 25 starts.
This is González’s best season by far, and he's hoping to use the excellent momentum of five goals in his last four to cause problems for Portugal’s back line. Although he doesn’t have much playing time for Mexico to draw on, the striker’s very promising stats speak for themselves, so much so that I believe he can do damage here.
As he searches for his first start in a major international competition, Gonzalez won’t want to miss out on the opportunity to prove himself to manager Javier Aguirre, especially with it being on home soil.
Our Mexico vs Portugal Pick: Armando González to Score.
