Mera Dvalishvili versus Sean O'Mailley (18-20) is a UFC 316 main event at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, USA. This championship rematch will see Dvalishvili fight to retain his UFC bantamweight title. It will also be the second title defense matchup for "The Machine" after defeating Umar Nurmagomedov in January this year at UFC 311. Earlier, he defeated O'Malley in September 2024 to lift his first-ever title since joining the franchise in December 2017.
Sean O'Malley, on the other hand, will come into this critical matchup looking to reclaim his title and pride. Dvalishvili will be eager to defeat O'Malley for the second straight time and continue his UFC bantamweight division reign. We expect him to employ a similar strategy that he used to defeat Sean last year, attempting as many takedowns as possible to drown O'Malley and knock him off his feet.
His opponent, meanwhile, will try to throw in more leg kicks to slow down the game and stay on his feet. He's an excellent finisher, as seen in his previous victories, where he won via KO/TKO in seven of his last nine wins. Still, we think Dvalishvili will successfully retain the title.
