As well as a whole host of men's matches, there's also lots of women's action taking place at Wimbledon on Tuesday, when recent tournament winner Maya Joint, who picked up the title in Eastbourne last week, will begin her Wimbledon campaign against Liudmila Samsonova. The Russian is the higher-ranking player here, but she's not exactly been dealt the best first-round hand. Facing a player coming off the back of a big tournament win won't be easy, that's for sure. Moreover, Samsonova comes into this match having lost last time out, while she's come unstuck against lower-ranked players on grass a few times this season already.
Maya Joint played some terrific tennis is Eastbourne last week, showing that she's very much a player on the up. The Aussie beat the likes of Ons Jabeur, Emma Raducanu and exciting youngster Alexandra Eala to secure her second WTA title, adding to her clay-court success in Morocco earlier this year.
