One of Tuesday's matches in Ningbo, which will take place in the early morning if you're viewing stateside, is an all Czech affair. Marketa Vondrousova meets Karolina Muchova in what is also a clash between former Grand Slam finalists. In other words, this is a serious encounter between two very good competitors.
This will be the first time that Vondrousova, who is now ranked outside of the top 25, has played since the US Open, but don't write her off based on that alone. Muchova, who is currently ranked above her opponent in 20th, has been playing more recently, but she showed mixed form in Wuhan last week, retiring against Magdalena Frech. When the pair last met on a hard court, it was far from clear cut, with three sets being played. We could quite easily see a similar battle here.
