On Saturday, the final of the ATP event in Geneva will take place. Casper Ruud has won this event in three of the last four years and was hotly fancied by many, including myself, to go all the way again. However, the Norwegian will not be recording a fourth win in five years after losing to Mariano Navone in the semis. Having beaten Ruud, the Argentine surely has one hand on the trophy, but can he get over the line?
Well, Learner Tien will be the player trying to stop Navone, and it's fair to say that the American has got to this final in contrasting style. While Navone has really stepped on the gas, beating three higher-ranked players in straight sets to get this far, Tien has had to really battle, winning each of his last two matches in tense, three-set style. As hard as he's scrapped to get here, he could have less left in the tank, which makes us conclude that Navone, who has so far played better than anyone at the tournament, is worthy of stronger betting support. In other words, at odds of -125, the Argentine goes down as a value bet.
