Manchester City and Tottenham will both be looking to build on impressive opening day victories when they clash at the Etihad this weekend. City looked imperious during their 4-0 victory at Wolves, with new midfield signing Tijjani Reijnders (one goal and one assist) looking especially impressive. Erling Haaland also chipped in with two goals, whilst French star Rayan Cherki marked his debut with a fine goal. It's early days, but City already look well-equipped to make a serious title challenge this season.
Spurs also opened the campaign with a highly encouraging victory, triumphing 3-0 over Burnley, thanks to two goals from Richarlison and a strike from Brennan Johnson. They also performed admirably in last week's Super Cup final against PSG, but manager Thomas Frnak will have been concerned by the concession of two late goals that ultimately cost his side the trophy.

Whilst we think Spurs will be much improved from the side that finished 17th last season, we can't see them getting anything from their trip to the Etihad on Saturday. City were in ominous form at Wolves, and we think they will continue in that vein in front of their home fans.
The likes of Haaland, Reijnders, Cherki, Bernardo Silva and Jeremy Doku have all hit the ground running this season, so we are expecting plenty of goals in a dominant City win.
