One of the most intriguing French Open finals in recent memory is due to take place on Saturday afternoon. Teenage sensation and world number eight Mirra Andreeva hasn't exactly shocked anybody by reaching the last two, as she's easily one of the best in the business, but 24-year-old Maja Chwalinska has caused a major shock this far. Prior the 2026 action at Roland Garros, the Polish player had never been further than the second round at a Grand Slam, but right from the word go in Paris, she's been in hot form, and she's ridden one sizable wave of momentum all the way to the final, delivering some outstanding efforts.
On paper, this is Mirra Andreeva's to lose, there can be no doubting that. Despite being the younger player, Andreeva is the more experienced competitor at this level, but Chwalinska has been causing upsets all tournament long, and she's clearly not scared of being the underdog. To be honest, given what we've seen from the Pole over the last fortnight, considering the level of opponent that she's not just beaten but brushed aside, then it's fair to say that she's a little generously priced to, at the very least, pick up a set on Saturday.
