A battle of lesser-known bantamweight fighters will take place in the 2nd fight of the main card this Saturday night. Louis Jourdain and Timmy Cuamba will look to make their names a little more popular after this contest.
Jourdain will be making his UFC debut here. He picked up a submission victory over Magno Dias in the 3rd round in Dana White’s Contender Series in September of last year. Now, he gets an opportunity to make a splash in the UFC here against Cuamba. Prior to his opportunity in DWCS, Jourdain had picked up 3 straight wins via KO/TKO. However, two of them were stoppages by someone other than the official. One was a doctor’s stoppage, and another was his opponent’s corner calling the fight.
Timmy Cuamba has never lost via KO/TKO in his career. He is just 2-3 in his 5-fight UFC career that has spanned the last two and a half years. He lost via submission in his lone fight this year, which cost him a chance to string a 3rd straight victory together. He will have a chance to bounce back here against Jourdain, but not likely by finish. Cuamba has won half of his fights by KO/TKO, but Jourdain has yet to lose in that fashion in his career.

Jourdain is almost a 2-to-1 favorite here in his debut. There may be a decent amount of hype behind him, but he is facing someone who has never been KO/TKO’d in his career. We expect Cuamba to keep this fight competitive and welcome Jourdain to the UFC by dragging him deep into the 3rd round. While taking this to go the distance is a feasible option, laying the juice to cut the 3rd round in half is worth the price.
