Los Angeles FC qualified for a FIFA Club World Cup they initially didn't expect to be in. They played three decent matches against superior opponents but didn't win, and upon their return to MLS, it was confirmed that the club's relationship with Olivier Giroud had ended by mutual consent. Amidst many changes, after four games without a win, LAFC found victory again. They were destined to win it, as they were heavy betting favorites against the Colorado Rapids, and they did so comfortably with goals from three different forwards: their star player Bouanga, the 21-year-old Salvadoran Nathan Ordaz, and Dilrosun.
Bouanga had been showing tremendous scoring rhythm, but that wasn't seen anywhere in the Club World Cup. Against the Colorado Rapids, he had his best performance since then, assisting on one goal and scoring another, although it was a penalty. There was speculation about a possible transfer to América in Mexico, but that didn't happen. The Gabonese player seems to be the inevitable goal scorer for LAFC, as his market value is over 8 million euros.
LAFC faces FC Dallas once again. When they played at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, LAFC always managed to defeat the Texan team, beating them in matches dating back to 2019.
