The Los Angeles Dodgers seek their fifth straight win on Saturday as they duke it out again with the Texas Rangers in Game 2 at Globe Life Field.
The Dodgers (15-6) are 4-1 in their last five games, and have won their last four assignments to stay within a half game of the NL West San Diego Padres (15-5). Yoshinobu Yamamoto has emerged as an early CY Young Award favorite after pitching 0.93 ERA with 38 strikeouts in his first 5 starts. In the series-opener against the Rangers, Yamamoto tormented the home team with seven scoreless innings on top of 10 strikeouts in the Dodgers’ 3-0 win.
The Rangers (12-8) remain No.1 in the AL West despite the Game 1 loss to the Dodgers. Although their offense is a work in progress, Texas still boasts one of the best ERA in baseball at 3.41 and 1.08 WHIP.
