At Angel Stadium, we'll have the first game of the Freeway Series between the Angels and Dodgers; this will happen on Friday after the Dodgers took the last game and split their four-game series against the Giants. Meanwhile, the Dodgers had a bye on Thursday after being swept by the Guardians in Cleveland; the Halos have the worst record in the AL.

Surprisingly, despite the Dodgers being the most dominant team in MLB in California and the current two-time champions, the Angels are eliminated from playoff contention early each year. However, the Halos have managed to make things difficult for Dave Roberts' team. So much so that the Angels have won their last seven games against the Dodgers, all as underdogs with odds of +144 or higher.

The Angels have a significant chance of also coming out strong in the weekend series against the Dodgers, as Roberts will insist on starting Snell, who said he was "obviously frustrated" after his first start of 2026, where he only lasted 3 innings and allowed 4 ER against the Braves.
