Houston Astros vs Los Angeles Dodgers Prediction & Picks - MLB

The Houston Astros (53-49) will begin their homestand tonight as they face off with the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers (62-42). After going 3-3 on their road trip, the Astros head back to Minute Maid Park where they have won 4 of their last 6. They are also coming off an 8-1 victory over the Athletics that snapped a brief 4-game losing streak. The Dodgers had lost 6 of their last 7 before beginning their most recent homestand which ended with a 6-1 record. The road has not been kind to them lately but they have been getting done at home. Tonight, Gavin Stone (9-3, 3.19) and Framber Valdez (8-5, 3.63) will headline the matchup as the starting pitchers. Stone is coming off 5 strong innings against the Red Sox where he allowed just 1 run on 6 hits but did not factor into the decision. Framber has gone back-to-back starts with allowing less than 3 runs. Those starts came against Miami and Seattle respectively. Both starters will need to be on point as each opposing lineup ranks in the top 5 in combined batting average. And while the Astros are 10th in the league in on-base percentage and runs scored, LA is #1 in both of those categories.
