The Cincinnati Reds gave the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers a rude welcome on Friday after pulling off a scintillating 9-6 win in their series opener at Great American Ballpark. Coming off back-to-back losses to the Padres, the Reds unleashed a massive six-run onslaught in the fifth inning to retake the lead from the Dodgers. Jonathan India delivered the pivotal play of the game by blasting a Grand Slam to break a 5-5 deadlock in bottom of the fifth inning. The Reds bullpen stepped in to get the job done with closer Brent Sutter doing just enough to get the final three outs and secure the win. The Reds bolstered its home record to 11-15 and overall slate to 21-30, 8.5 games below the NL Central leader Milwaukee Brewers (29-21). The Dodgers suffered three straight losses the first time this season and dropped to 33-20, still No.1 in the NL West.
