Los Angeles ended its seven-game losing streak yesterday with a 2-1 win over the Diamondbacks in extra innings. Despite the losing streak, the Dodgers still have an 8.5-game lead over the second-place D-backs for first place in the NL West.
Eduardo Rodriguez is scheduled to start for Arizona. He has had a solid season so far, going 10-4 in 23 starts with a 2.71 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP. Teams have hit .241 against him. He has a 5-3 record in 12 starts at home with an ERA of 2.88 and an OBA of .231. This will be his fourth start against the Dodgers this season; he went 1-0 in the previous three, and the team went 2-1.

There are really two good bets for this game. Neither team has been hitting the ball exceptionally well of late (Dodgers-- .245 over the last week; D-backs-- .231); Arizona scored 25 runs to 21 for the Dodgers. Rodriguez is a solid pitcher with a good track record against the Dodgers this season. Wrobleski threw well in his previous start vs. Arizona. So, the UNDER certainly looks good; both prior games in the series finished UNDER the total. But Rodriguez has been more of a proven commodity against the Dodgers than Wrobleski has been against Arizona. The UNDER is a solid wager, but I like the value in the ML for the D-backs.
