The Los Angeles Dodgers made the biggest splash at the trade deadline by acquiring Tarik Skubal. However, they have yet to win a game since making the move and are on a 6-game losing streak. They try to change that tonight when they begin their series with the Arizona Diamondbacks in Arizona.

Coincidentally, pitching has been their biggest issue during their losing streak. They have had games where they have given up 7, 10, 8, and 9 during the span. They are still doing a decent job with their offense, but they have gotten into too big of a hole to dig out of recently. Roki Sasaki will start for them in this one, and while his 5-5 record and 4.64 ERA are not very imposing, the Dodgers seem to find ways to get wins when he starts. He is not always factoring into the decision, but the Dodgers will take a win any way they can right now.

Arizona will counter with Merrill Kelly. His numbers are a little worse than Sasaki. He is 8-9 with a 5.04 ERA and coming off a rough outing against Cleveland in his last start. He allowed 5 runs on 8 hits in 5 innings, where he picked up his 9th loss of the season.
