The Los Angeles Angels visit the Seattle Mariners tonight for what would be the divisional game to wrap up the campaign. Seattle is going into the game in decent form, having played decent baseball over the late autumn and late summer months. The Mariners put together a very good finish to their regular campaign, winning a lot of their recent series and staying in the playoff contention for the final few weeks.

Aggressive hitting and quality pitching have been the formula for Seattle's success. The Angels, however, suffered through another losing campaign. LA struggled for consistency the past few months, sliding down the table due to losing sprees and an inability to convert winnable games into wins.

The Angels' performance suffered especially on the road, and the Angels quite often dropped out of contention early when their pitching disappointed. Though the Mariners have been going upwards with the momentum favoring them, the Angels' late campaign performance showed underwhelming results, making them miss the postseason for another year.

Under the leadership of both teams, Seattle appears to carry the edge within the game. Both the more improved recent play of the Mariners and more evenly assembled roster render them the probable victors, especially at home. Their pitching unit held up more consistently than the Angels' unit, and Seattle's lineup proved capable of scoring late runs.
