The San Franciso Giants will try to get back at the Los Angeles Angels after their comeback attempt ran out of steam in Game 1 of their three-game series at Oracle Park last Friday. The Angels drew first blood in this intra-state series as Micky Moniak, Zach Neto and Logan O’Hoppe powered their team to an 8-0 start. Angels starter Tyler Anderson claimed his sixth win of the season after allowing one earned run in 5.1 innings. Once Anderson left the field, the Giants made a furious comeback by racking up six unanswered runs to cut the deficit to 8-6 heading into the 9th inning. However, Angels closer Carlos Estevez did just enough to get the final three outs of the game and get the win for the Angels. The win improved the Angels’ road record to 16-19 and its overall slate to 27-42. The Giants, meanwhile, dipped to 19-16 at home and 34-36 overall.
