The San Francisco Giants (34-35 SU, 33-36 ATS) continue their foray through the AL West as they welcome in the Los Angeles Angels (26-42 SU, 38-30 ATS). The pitching has been a major problem for Los Angeles, as the Angels have the second-worst ERA in the American League. The starters haven’t been bad for the Angels, but the bullpen has been an adventure to say the least.
Along with Colorado, the Angels are one of just two MLB teams with a bullpen ERA over 5. And that’s why it’s usually a good idea to get in and get out as quickly as possible with the Angels. Starter Tyler Anderson has held four of his past five opponents to one earned run, which makes the first five innings a viable play. However, that comes with a catch: the Angels have given him no more than two runs of support in four straight starts.
