The Los Angeles Angels will try to keep their fading playoff hopes alive when they face the Athletics in Sacramento at Sutter Health Park. Fans can follow the action once the game gets underway at 10:05 p.m. EST.

LA comes into the game with a 59-62 record, fresh off sweeping the Dodgers. But if they are going to make the postseason, they’ll have their work cut out for them going forward, since they are five games back of the Yankees for the third spot. Yusei Kikuchi will start for the Angels tonight. Kikuchi is 6-7 in 25 starts with a 3.37 ERA, 1.42 WHIP, and .261 OBA.  He has had some issues on the road this season, going 1-5 in 12 starts with a 4.50 ERA and .285 OBA. However, when he faced the A’s at home on June 9, he went 7 1/3 shutout innings, giving up one hit and striking out five. Jack Perkins is set to start for the A’s. Perkins is 1-2 in ten appearances, including two starts, with a 4.08 ERA, 1.05 WHIPO, and .184 OBA.  He has gone 0-1 at home in five appearances (one start) with a 7.15 ERA and .261 OBA.
