Game two of the three game series between the Oakland Athletics (38-61) and the Los Angeles Angels (41-56) will take place this afternoon at the Oakland Coliseum. JJ Bleday and Shane Langeliers each homered yesterday to help the A’s take game one 13-3. JP Sears got the win as he pitched 5.2 innings and allowed just 2 runs on 9 scattered hits. LA’s Griffin Canning was lit up for 6 runs on 6 hits in just 3.1 innings. While this was the 1st game after the break, it still snapped a 3-game winning streak that the Angels were on. For the A’s, if they can take game two, it will be a 3-game win streak of their own. Mitch Spence (5-6, 4.75) will be the man on the mound for the A’s in this one. The Phillies knocked him around in his last go for 6 runs in 3.2 innings. He had no command and walked 5 batters in that one. The Angels will counter with Jack Kochanowicz (0-1, 12.00) who will be making just his 2nd big league start. The former 3rd round pick from 2019, Kochanowicz allowed 4 earned runs on 7 hits in 3 innings in his debut against the Mariners.
