The New York Yankees host the Los Angeles Angels today, looking to snap a five-game losing streak. The Yankees were shut out 4-0 by the Angels yesterday, marking their third consecutive game without scoring a run. This scoreless streak has now reached 29⅓ innings, their worst offensive drought in decades.

Despite the slump, the Yankees still hold a 42–30 record and lead the American League East by 2.5 games. Their season-long strength in power hitting and run production has faltered in recent weeks, and the current stretch of poor offense is their worst of the 2025 season.

The Angels improved to 35–37 with Tuesday’s win and have now blanked the Yankees in back-to-back games at Yankee Stadium. Though inconsistent overall, the Angels have outperformed expectations in the Bronx, showing signs of life despite a negative run differential and a losing record.

Their recent pitching performances have been a bright spot. The 4-0 victory followed an 11-inning 1-0 win the night before, giving the Angels back-to-back shutouts against a previously top-tier Yankees offense.

Kyle Hendricks pitched six shutout innings on June 17, allowing four hits and striking out nine without overpowering velocity. His efficiency and command limited Yankees hitters all night. Hendricks earned his fifth win of the season with another quality outing.

Yankees starter Will Warren struck out 11 and allowed three runs in six innings but received no run support. His final 11 batters were retired in order, but the Yankees offense could not capitalize.
