The Detroit Tigers (66-50) sit atop the AL Central despite dropping four of their last six games. They lost two of three against division rival Minnesota most recently and also fell in a series to Philadelphia before that.

On the positive side, Detroit swept Arizona in the prior set, showcasing the potential that has kept them in first place. Overall, the Tigers have a balanced lineup and a solid pitching staff.
