by Bradley Gibbs in Premier League Picks
The EPL is back this weekend, and after we warm up with seven games on Saturday, there are two games for viewers and bettors to attack on Sunday, one of which is a big one, taking place at Anfield, where Liverpool and Man United will go head-to-head for the first time this season. Having wobbled of late, Arne Slot's champions will be hoping that a few weeks away from domestic action has done the trick. After three straight losses in all competitions, the hosts will surely be chomping at the bit to get back out there.
The international break probably came at the wrong time for the Red Devils, who beat Sunderland when last in action, keeping a first clean sheet of the campaign. Having not been fully together for the last week or so, with various players going off for various international assignments, can Ruben Amorim's men use that win against the Black Cats as a platform from which to build? We'll soon find out.

Liverpool - Manchester United: Form Analysis
As far as form goes, the Reds come into this game off the back of what may just be their most disappointing run since Arne Slot took charge well over a year ago. Having won the league at a canter last season, it looked during the early weeks of the new season that the Liverpool lads would start to extend their lead at the head of affairs, but that couldn't be further from what has happened over the last few weeks. Sunday's hosts have lost each of their last three games (in all competitions), losing their last two league games, first coming unstuck away to Crystal Palace, before losing to Chelsea last time out. They now need to improve, that's for sure.
Sunday's visitors, all in all, have also made a fairly poor start to the campaing, with the men coached by Ruben Amorim finding consistent efforts very hard to come by. It's usually been a case of one step forward, one step back. In the league, they've won only three out of seven and are yet to win back-to-back.

Liverpool & Manchester United Squad Analysis
From a personnel point of view, Liverpool boss Arne Slot still has a few concerns. Alisson is out with a groin injury, while there are also doubts over the readiness of Ibrahima Konate, who has been nursing a thigh injury. Youngsters Calum Scanlon and Luke Chambers remain sidelined.
For the the Red Devils, there isn't too much to be worried about personnel wise. Sure, Lisandro Martinez is out, but that's far from a fresh concern, while Ruben Amorim will also be without the services of Noussair Mazraoui, who is once again out with a thigh issue. The United boss should otherwise be free to select his best starting XI.

Our Liverpool vs Manchester United Prediction
This will almost certainly be a game that the hosts dominate, both in terms of possesion and shots, and I really wouldn't he surprised if the Red Devils spent large portions of Sunday's game on the back foot. This could lead the hosts to shots from range, which has often been the case this season, and if that happens, Dominik Szoboszlai is definitely someone who will be looking to let fly.
The Hungarian has taken more shots than any other Liverpool player in the Premier League this season, registering shots on target against Bournemouth, Burnley and Arsenal, while he's fresh off the back of an international game where he registered three shots on target against Portgual. Our Liverpool vs Man United Pick: Dominik Szoboszlai 1+ Shots on Target.
