The 2025 edition of the EuroBasket will officially kick off on Wednesday morning with Great Britain facing Lithuania in the opening match. Great Britain will be looking to impress in Group B, making their third consecutive appearance in this competition. However, they are the outsiders in the group, with NY Knicks star OG Anunoby once again set to miss this event. The London-born star said he didn’t plan to play during the summer. It will be surprising if they dominate the group.
Lithuania, meanwhile, is among the dark horses in this competition and will be looking to condemn the Brits to an opening-day defeat. The Northern Europeans have made it clear that their goal is to leave Latvia with a medal despite making their first appearance since 2015. However, they’ll have to make do without the services of Sacramento Kings’ forward Domantas Sabonis and Matas Buzelis of Chicago Bulls. Still, they have the potential to surprise everyone.
