Finland takes on Lithuania on Tuesday, September 2, at the Tampere Deck Arena in Finland.
With the home crowd rallying behind them, Finland will try to keep their record unblemished when they go up against Lithuania on Tuesday. Finland has won their first three games of the tournament, including a recent 85-65 victory over Montenegro.
Finland saw themselves deadlocked with Montenegro after the opening period, but a strong second quarter carried them through. They went on a 24-14 run during that span and never looked back.
After his 40-point explosion the other day, Lauri Markkanen hauled in a double-double performance of 26 points and 13 rebounds. Four other Finnish players finished in double-digit scoring, including Mikael Jantunen's 11 markers.
Meanwhile, Lithuania is coming off a disappointing 107-88 loss to Germany. They fell behind by 12 in the first quarter and they failed to recover. It was the Lithuanians' first loss in three games.
Rokas Jokubaitis led Lithuania with 20 points and 7 assists, but he also committed a team-high five turnovers. NBA veteran big man Jonas Valanciunas produced 14 points in 19 minutes of play, while Margiris Normantas and Tadas Sedekerskis contributed 11 and 10 points, respectively.
This will be a great matchup between two of the darkhorse contenders in the tournament.
