Denis Shapovalov of Canada takes on the son of a tennis legend, Leo Borg of Sweden, in the first round of the 2025 Nordic Open in Stockholm, Sweden, on Wednesday.
Shapovalov is the favorite at -1400, but Borg could be a legit pick in the spread line after coming off a strong win over Sebastian Ofner.
Current Form:
Ranked No.23 in the world, Shapovalov is the No.3 seed at the Nordic Open, earning himself a bye into the second round. The Canadian only picked up one win during his Asian campaign on the ATP Tour, losing to Daniel Altmaier in the first round of the 2025 Japan Open and bowing to Jiri Lehecka in the second round of the 2025 Shanghai Masters.
Borg received a wildcard entry in his hometown tournament. The son of Bjorn Borg, Leo is currently ranked 622nd in the world, and yet he managed to score an upset over Ofner 6-3, 6-4 in the first round. Borg carries a 9-23 record in indoor hard-court and 0-7 record against the ATP top-100.

Our Leo Borg vs Denis Shapovalov Prediction
Denis Shapovalov is 5-0 in indoor matches in 2025 and 82-50 in his career or a win percentage of 62 percent. On the other hand, Borg has yet to taste a win against an ATP 100 player. The win against Ofner should give him the momentum as he tries to achieve another milestone, but Shapovalov has only lost four times this year against players outside the ATP top-100.
Fearless Forecast: I am not so optimistic about Borg’s chances against Shapovalov in their second-round clash. Borg isn’t a hard-court expert, nor does he have the record that makes him a legit threat to Shapovalov. I am taking Shapovalov to come away with a dominant win 6-3, 6-2 to cover -6.5 Games (+125).
Our betting prediction for Denis Shapovalov vs. Leo Borg: Denis Shapovalov -6.5 Games
