435th-ranked Leandro Riedi of Switzerland will shoot for the moon on Monday, as he squares off with world’s No.8 Alex De Minaur of Australia in the fourth round of the 2025 US Open.
Current Form:
Riedi’s upcoming showdown with De Minaur marks the first time the Swiss will be playing in the round of 16 at any Grand Slam tournament. Riedi, who is a heavy underdog at +1000 against De Minaur, carved his way into the fourth round of the 2025 US Open by racking up six straight wins, starting from the qualifying phase of this event. Riedi opened his main draw campaign with a straight-set victory over Pedro Martinez Portero of Spain 6-4 6-2 6-3. He followed it up with a gutsy five-set win over Francisco Cerundolo 3-6 4-6 6-4 6-4 6-2. In the third round, Riedi was holding a 5-3 lead in the first set when his opponent Kamil Majchrzak retired due to injury.
De Minaur has cruised through the first three rounds at the US Open, besting Christopher O’Connell of Australia 6-3 6-4 6-4, Shintaro Mochizuki of Japan 6-2 6-4 6-2, and Daniel Altmaier of Germany 6-7(7) 6-3 6-4 2-0 ret. without being pushed to the limit. De Minaur is shooting for his third US Open quarterfinal after making it into the last eight in 2020 and 2024. The Australian has compiled a 40-15 record on the 2025 ATP season, including a 22-7 record in outdoor hard-court.

Our Leandro Riedi vs Alex De Minaur Prediction
Fearless Forecast: Leandro Reidi covers +6.5 games spread against Alex De Minaur.
Leandro Reidi will be ready for the biggest match of his career on Monday against the heavy favorite Alex De Minaur. The Aussie emerges as the hot betting pick to win this match because of his caliber as a top-10 player and vast experience in playing at this stage of a Grand Slam event. However, De Minaur would be putting himself in harm’s way if he thinks Riedi is an easy foe to beat. Riedi might not be a popular name on the tour but he boasts a solid 65 percent win rate on the hard court, not to mention a 1-0 record against the ATP top-10. Of course, De Minaur is still the smart moneyline pick in this match, but I also would not count out Riedi to put up a good fight in this fascinating fourth-round tussle.
Our betting prediction for Alex De Minaur vs. Leandro Reidi: Leandro Reidi +6.5 Games.
