The Los Angeles Sparks (4-3) travel to face the Connecticut Sun (1-8) in a WNBA 2026 matchup on Saturday, May 30, at Mohegan Sun Arena.
These teams haven't met yet this season, so Sunday will be their first head-to-head matchup of the year. Given the gap in form and confidence between these two rosters right now, Connecticut will have to work hard to establish any kind of early advantage.
After all, they're coming off a 71-61 loss to the Portland Fire, which is their third straight loss. In that loss to the Fire, the Sun only made one of their 21 attempts from the three-point line. They also turned the ball over 17 times, compounding their problems.
It's no surprise that the Sun ranks last in the league in offensive rating (93.4). They're not doing well on the defensive end of the floor, either.
Meanwhile, the Sparks are fresh off a 92-87 win over the Washington Mystics. Despite star guard Kelsey Plum sitting out, the Sparks managed to make half of their shots, with Erica Wheeler's 21 points and 8 assists leading their charge.
The victory against the Mystics was the Sparks' third straight win.
It's still unclear if Plum will play on Saturday, as she's dealing with a right ankle sprain.
