English side Sunderland have enjoyed a fantastic start to their first European campaign since 1974. The Premier League side have won both of their opening Europa League matches, firstly beating AZ Alkmaar followed by a 2-1 away win over Torreense. The Black Cats, though, are in poor form in their domestic league. They're currently bottom of the EPL standings having lost five of their opening seven games. Lech Poznan have had opposite fortunes. Their Europa League campaign has got off to a disastrous start, losing 4-0 away at Crystal Palace and 4-0 again at home to Bayer Leverkusen. Their league form, though, is fantastic. Kolejorz sit second in the Ekstraklasa after winning eight and drawing one of their first ten games.

Of Poznan's last five competitive fixtures, they've won three and lost two, the aforementioned Europa League defeats. Of Sunderland's last five, they've lost three of them and won two, the aforementioned Europa League victories! Sunderland are favorites to win, but it's not going to be a particularly easy fixture. For our prediction, we think they'll be goals scored, including by the home side, but the Mackems should do just enough for victory.
