Kelvin Gastelum (20-9-0) versus Joe Pyfer (13-3-0) is a middleweight matchup on Saturday night at Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. This pay-per-view matchup was initially booked for the UFC Mexico City before Pyfer fell ill. Gastelum has a lot of UFC experience, having joined the franchise in April 2013. He has since competed in 22 bouts, bagging 12 victories. His most recent win was against Daniel Rodriguez in June 2024, winning in the third round via decision. He will be eager to put up another great show.
Joe Pyfer, meanwhile, is a former ROC champion who joined the franchise in October 2020 via the Dana White Contender Series. However, it wasn't the best start for "Bodybagz," losing via KO/TKO to Dustin Stoltzfus in the first round. He quickly picked himself up to go on a four-fight winning run before losing in February last year to Jack Hermanson. His latest fight was against Mark-Andre Barriault in June last year, winning via a KO punch in the first round. He simply doesn't give up.

Pyfer is the warm -420 betting favorite on Saturday. He's younger and more athletic than Gastelum, who hasn't competed well recently. Pyfer has also shown that he can end the fight early if he lands a clean punch. His height and impressive reach could be a nightmare for Gustelum, who absorbs an average of 3.48 significant strikes per minute. Gastelum has had an up-and-down career since his title defeat to Israel Adesanya in May 2019. In fact, he hasn't won two back-to-back fights since that time. No disrespect to Gastelum, but we don't see him winning this matchup.
