The Kansas City Royals and Tampa Bay Rays meet in game two of their series on Tuesday night, as the Royals look to build on their shock 2-1 victory in game one.
The main talking point from game one was the Rays' unexpectedly awful offensive display. For the Royals, pitcher Michael Wacha was the star of the show as he restricted the hosts to just one run from seven innings, before the KC bullpen successfully saw out the victory.
Despite that success for the Royals, they are still languishing at the bottom of the AL Central with a dismal 33-46 record. Barring an extraordinary second half of the regular season, there will be no postseason action in KC this year.
As for the Rays, there are now three games back from the Yankees in the AL East. Given New York's excellent recent form, Tampa will need to get back to winning ways ASAP if they are to remain in the race for the divisional title.

Whilst Tampa were extremely poor on offense during Monday's 1-2 (and have struggled with the bat generally in the last two weeks), we still think they have a clear edge over the Royals.
Shane McClanahan will start on the mound for the Rays, which could spell trouble for a Royals lineup that has been hit and miss in recent games.
