Neither Renfroe's good night with the glove nor having scored two runs against Yankees ace Max Fried was enough for the Royals to win game 2, as a Yankees attack with 2 outs in the sixth inning, where Dominguez hit a bases-sweeping double, turned the score around, and once again the Yankees bullpen took charge until the end of the game, leaving the Royals with only 5 hits in a game where the Yankees defense did not record a single error.

This continues the Yankees' recent dominance over the Royals, who have now won six of their last seven games against each other, despite the fact that the Yankees haven't made more than four runs in their last four wins against Kansas City.

Now the Yankees are looking to complete the sweep on Wednesday when Clarke Schmidt returns from the injured list. He's coming off a pair of starts in Double-A, and although it's confirmed he'll start Friday's game, he won't officially come off the injured list until then.
