After defeating the Royals 6-1 on Friday, the Mets fell 11-7 on Saturday. Nick Loftin and Salvador Perez combined for 4-8 and 7 RBIs in the recent victory for the Royals. Pete Alonso and Starling Marte went off for 3 homers and 4 RBIs themselves for the Mets, though it was not enough for the win. Sean Manaea only lasted 3.2 innings and was knocked around for 9 hits and 6 earned runs. Jose Butto will try to have a better outing for the Mets in this one. He has yet to factor into a decision but has a great 1.50 ERA. Against the Tigers, in his lone start, he went 6 innings with 6 Ks and allowed just 1 run on 3 hits. The Royals will rely on the youngster, Cole Ragans, who allowed 10 hits to the Astros but kept them to just 3 runs in 5 innings. The Mets are 7th in the league in runs scored. That is being done with their start, Francisco Lindor batting only .111. If he can get going, this will be a dangerous lineup. The Royals bats have been decent as 4 different players have 3 or more homers on the year.
